Building an Inclusive UTokyo for All
The University of Tokyo (UTokyo) has been working to promote support for people with disabilities and gender equality with the Disability Services Office, established in 2002, and the Office for Gender Equality ,established in 2006, taking the central lead.
In April 2024, to further accelerate the creation of an inclusive campus, both offices were merged and developed into the Center for Coproduction of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (aka: IncluDE).
IncluDE values "co-creation". This philosophy aims to generate knowledge and techniques from the perspectives of those directly affected, such as women, sexual minorities, and people with disabilities, to build a better society. To achieve this, it is essential to create an environment where diverse students and staff can thrive with peace of mind.
Current priority issues include housing support for female students, barrier-free measures after enrollment, and other urgent issues that are difficult to anticipate. However, due to institutional constraints, existing financial resources are often insufficient to adequately address many cases, making your donations necessary.
The presence of donors provides significant emotional support for minority individuals. Your support will enhance diversity at UTokyo and strongly promote the realization of "a university where anyone in the world would want to come to".
Please note:
• This donation option is available to US residents only. If you reside outside the U.S., please donate to the University of Tokyo Fund in Japan.
